Visit www.ri6990.org to find a club to make up an absence.
Attendance credit for a 30-minute interactive club Web site activity offers an alternative to making up a meeting at another club.
To earn this credit, Rotarians log on to the site, read up on a range of subjects, post comments, & submit a form to the club secretary.
How to do a Make-Up On-Line via Rotary eClub One?
Perfect attendance is now possible for every Rotarian with computer access. Rotary’s eClub One is a full-service online charted Rotary Club. Meetings operate 24 hours a day, seven days a week. What an easy way to make up for a meeting that you have missed! During the last Rotary year, Rotary eClub One welcomed more than 120,000 visitors from 161 countries. Of these, about 800 per week participated in one of eClub One’s meeting programs and applied for make-up credit.
Here’s what you have to do to earn make up credit. Go to
http://www.rotary.org/RIdocuments/en_pdf/eclub_list.pdf

Our Speaker Today:
Randy Lee, VP & COO of Baptist Hospital
Randy Lee joined Baptist Hospital in 1989 as director of planning for Baptist Hospital, and later for Baptist Health South Florida. He was named vice president of Baptist Hospital in 1997, and is now COO.He received a bachelor's degree in psychology from Stetson University in Deland, FL, and a master's degree in health administration from Duke University in Durham, NC.
Randy gave us an update on Baptist Hospital as well as on the culture of Baptist Health. He is a member of the Pinecrest-Dadeland Rotary Club and remarked that the Baptist culture is consistent with Rotary values. This organization is not solely focused on results, but on how those results are achieved. Employees are evaluated on on technical competence but alos have equal value on how they meet Employee Service Standards. Employees receive a lot of awards abut can always do better without pridefulness.
For fifteen years in a row, the Consumer Choice Award for the local area has gone to Baptist Health. It is also noted as one of the most ethical companies in the country, and the philosophy goes back to "who you hire is the most important decision".
Randy recognized our member, Cathy Miller, for her role in developing the pineapple logo for Baptist Health. The pineapple represents hospitality.
Baptist scores very high in many satisfaction surveys, including:
Physician Satisfaction 92nd Percentile
Employee Satisfaction 84th Percentile
Inpatient Satisfaction 88th Percentile
Emergency Department 94th Percentile
Outpatient Satisfaction 94th Percentile
This i s a not-for-profit hospital and there is amount of charity care provided (approximately $240M last year). There have been recent expansions at Baptist Hospital in Kendall, including a redesigned Emergency Center, Chest Pain Center and Back and Spince Center. Baptist Hospital will be expanding the Cardiac and Vascular Center.
