Membership and Foundation Go Hand-in-Hand

How does the Rotary Foundation tie in with Membership? Quite easy, without members who are educated about the work of the Foundation there would be no donations to the Foundation.

Rotarians have done great things using Foundation monies. As Past RI President Carlo Ravizza has said "Polio Plus is the most visible global story, but we have another 100,000 success stories to tell through the years by our clubs". Rotarians using Foundation monies create beautiful outcomes.

With almost no publicity, fifty-three participated in Sunday’s bicycle event through the Gables. The youngest (pictured below) were on bicycles with training wheels! They learned to cycle in organized lines, hand signals and the motto “leave no man behind.” Look for the upcoming article in the Miami Herald’s Neighbors section.

  • Assemble: the intersection of Ponce de Leon and Augusto Streets, on the campus of Ponce Middle School in Coral Gables, directly across the University of Miami’s entrance by 10:30 am – leaving 11 am
  • The ride is 12 miles long, at a pace of 12 miles per hour.
  • To participate, all must wear appropriate gear, including helmets and water.
  • Riders are escorted by the Coral Gables Police avoiding traffic lights and stops.

(Summer rides are suspended: June, July, August, September & October)
