Ann Fisher introduced our speaker:
Mr. Don Weisner- Topic- “Born” Negotiator “Don Weisner is Professor Emeritus, business law, at the University of Miami where he taught law, business ethics and negotiation on the Coral Gables campus, in London and the Bahamas. He was chairman of
often-outstanding teaching awards. A prolific writer, he has written more than 45 legal and business articles and co-authored three textbooks besides his latest offering, the Illustrated Negotiator's Glossary. He was trained by the National Association of Purchasing Management for whom he conducted in ¬house mock negotiation sessions. The discussion topics today will include some of the common themes that concern those professionals who must daily negotiate commercial contracts.”
Don shared with us a test consisting of 3 questions designed to gauge one’s ability to negotiate. He informed us that you can’t be likeable and be a good negotiator. If you have a need to be liked you must say to yourself, “Get over it!” It is also important to not worry about offending the other person when buying or selling something. Simply offer the lowest price when buying and the highest when selling and never negotiate by phone or when you are in hurry. For more info. Visit
