To earn this credit, Rotarians log on to the site, read up on a range of subjects, post comments, & submit a form to the club secretary.
How to do a Make-Up On-Line via Rotary eClub One?
Perfect attendance is now possible for every Rotarian with computer access. Rotary’s eClub One is a full-service online charted Rotary Club. Meetings operate 24 hours a day, seven days a week. What an easy way to make up for a meeting that you have missed! During the last Rotary year, Rotary eClub One welcomed more than 120,000 visitors from 161 countries. Of these, about 800 per week participated in one of eClub One’s meeting programs and applied for make-up credit.

Our Speaker Today:
Julia Jakkel, Rotary Exchange Student
Julia is a Rotary Exchange student from Hungary. Hungary has a population of about 10 million people. The flag is 3 colors: red, representing the blood shed for Hungary, white, representing peace, and green representing the soil of the earth. Hungary became a member of the European Union in 2004. There are many traditions that are still practiced today in Hungary. There is the festival/carnival, Busojaras. Santa visits Hungary on Dec. 6, children leave boots outside of their door on Dec 5th, when they awake the boots are filled with chocolates and other sweets. March 15th is also an important date and the celebration of the revolution.
Julia's hometown is called Gyongyos, it is about 53 miles from Budapest. The meaning of the name is "made of pearls." It is situated at the foot of the Sar-hegy and Matra mountains and is home to many food production plants. Julia attended Bela Bartek school of Music. Bartek is considered one of the most important composers of the 20th century and is regarded, along with Liszt, as Hungary's greatest composer.
The Rotary club of Budapest has 19 members, there are 46 Rotary clubs in Hungary in all. They sponsor 2 Hungarian Exchange students every year, and Julia is very thankful to be given this opportunity. She hopes to complete her college applications shortly and apply to attend school in the U.S. Julia ended our meeting today with a delightful display of her musical talent!
Thanks, Julia!
